Congratulations To Our PCAV Representatives At Nationals!!
Emma Cameron with her valiant steed Cody along with the Victorian senior games team were the undisputed national champions – what a fantastic effort and well done! The Victorian Tretathlon team was also a force to reckon with taking out not only the top 5 places but also the national champions title. Our girls were amazing with Keely McGovern on the always consistent Zoe placed 3rd and Sophie Myzska on the dashing Satan placed 9th. It seems all riders had a fantastic experience representing their Clubs and states in the Bi Annual event – bring on NSW in 2019!! I would like to congratulate these amazing ladies on their personal and team achievements, how lucky are we as a club to have this much talent amongst us. Also we are super lucky to have Emma & Sophie head our games team as we take on SMZ for the chance to represent state on Oct 15th in Bunyip. PLUS Sophie and Keely introduce us to the multi talented world of tretathlon with State coach Kate visiting in November rally for a very special club workshop (minus the swim).
Doongala Show Feb '17
Tash Burchill, Junior Pony Club Champion. Sharn on Marey...so many ribbons by lunchtime.
Drouin Showjumping Championships
Gemma had the best day at her first grade E showjumping event.
She really had to push Marey and came up with a brilliant result with a 2nd place it the 2 phase event after an disappointing & unplanned dismount in the AM5 jump off.
PC Dressage and Showjumping May 28th/29th 2016
Thanks to Doongala's wonderful events committee and helpers, our first Dressage/SJ weekend ran smoothly. The raffle was a hit, especially the great jump wings donated by Bright Equestrian. We had some great results from members riding, including;
Maddy and Rubi 1st in PC D grade, Emma and Cruiser 4th in the PC D grade, Jess C and Lou 4th in PC E grade and 3rd in PC 4 (dressage), Gemma and Marey 2nd in PC F grade, Hailey and Jasper 4th in PC F grade, Sian and Cherry 3rd in PC grade 2 (dressage), Rachel and Liza 4th in Open 2 and more fantastic achievements. Well done to everyone involved with running this competition, and all riders.
SMZ Mini Tooradin Horse Trials May 22nd 2016
DPC had a great turn-out at Mini Tooradin Horse Trials! Everyone had a great time out on course with their ponies with lots of smiles at the end. Well done to all competitors from the club and thanks to the amazing parents who did duties and helped out with the kids.
Haley C: "Tooradin was AWESOME fun! Jasper did the best with dressage! He got a score of 22. Jasper got kicked by another horse just before we did showjumping :( He was ok so we still jumped and we had 1 refusal and 1 pole. With crosscountry I was wayyy to fast - our time to complete it was 4mins 45seconds... But we did it in 3mins 20seconds! I will try to slow him down next time. Overall Jasper and I came 6th!! I got a great ribbon & its on my bedroom wall!"
Jess C: "Tooradin was great fun. My team was Shaylie from Doongala and 2 other girls from other clubs; Elle and Tanaya.
Lou did great in her dressage. In showjumping we knocked one pole and we got a 2 second penalty in crosscountry. Lou played up a bit on cross country- rearing and stuff, but she eventually came good! Our team didn't place but we all tried our best and had a really great day!"
Pink Rally May 15th 2016
Once again, Doongala PC members, parents and ponies decked themselves out in pink and had a great time to raise funds and support for the Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA). There was lots of fun and prizes for the best dressed, and a great photo at the end. Thanks everyone for your effort, support and donations.
SMZ Tooradin Horse Trials February 28th 2016
This year we had two Doongala riders competing at Tooradin HT, both in grade 3. Both girls went double clear with good dressage scores and were very pleased with their ponies! Maddy and Rubi came away with 6th place and Sophie and Satin finished up in 9th place. Thanks also to the Doongala families who came down to do a zone duty, we couldn't have done it without you.
Doongala PC Open Horse Show February 21st 2016
Our annual show was once again a success with our own members and families, plus our friends from other clubs! Thanks to the General Commitee and Event Commitee for all your hard work to make our club the best it can be. There were many first time winners, new PB's set in the freshmans rounds and lots of happy faces present at the club, we're already looking forward to next year!
Doongala PC Camp January 2016
On the 4-6th of January, a group of keen Doongala members and 7 members from other clubs in Victoria joined together to form four groups to rotate between lessons from Amber Cargill (XC), Chris Height (SJ), Sam Cesnik (Flat). We had great weather and all campers and most ponies were on their best behaviour. There were a lot of new friendships formed and strengthened, and new milestones reached by riders. Thank-you very much to the camp committee, parents, instructors and riders for their hard work and dedication to make these amazing few days happen so successfully!

Hastings SJ 2015
Gemma & "There's Something About Marey" competed at Hastings SJ day Sunday 25th Oct.
The pair came 9th in the "Two Rounds" after a single refusal in the jump off, and came 1st in the "Two Phase" setting a blistering pace.
They had a wonderful day out representing Doongala in a highly competitive field 21 very talented young riders.
Werribee Pony Club HT 2015
On the 25th-27th of September, we had 10 Doongala members trek down to Werribee for their annual HT. It was a milestone for a few riders, with placings, a first time horse trials competitor, a rider with her first grade 2 start and two riders with their first grade 3 starts. It was a fun weekend for all involved, including the parents!
Sarah had a very successful run at Werribee; "I had such an amazing weekend at Werribee and was lucky to share it with great people! Poppy and I had a great weekend placing 5th after a good dressage test, then coming back with a clear showjumping round and a clear cross country round finishing 3rd overall! I couldn't be happier with our result and hope to be back again next year!"
Bella finished her dressage on 85% (15 penalties) sitting at =4th and had 3 XC time faults. Unfortunately the class SJ results were muddled up, and she should have finished on 22 in =5th! But despite this, she knows she did well and she had fun so all good. It was a great weekend!
